Water Guard (KFR) — for angle-seat and straight-seat valves
Fits the classic German KFR valve (combined free-flow / check valve, angle seat) and the British straight-seat valve. Mounts in minutes — no pipe cutting, no utility shut-off.
In German homes, the angle-seat valve is the standard shut-off directly after the water meter. The disc sits at an angle to the flow and is operated by an upper stem screw. The KFR motor grips that screw and turns the valve closed on demand — in 15 to 30 seconds, depending on the pipe diameter.
The British straight-seat valve is mechanically close: the disc sits inline with the flow, but the stem screw is operated from above just the same. The KFR motor mounts onto it with the same head.

Installation in minutes
The existing handwheel of the KFR valve is removed, the motor head is placed on top and secured with a locknut. Done. No pipe cutting, no utility shut-off, no permanent alteration to the valve. Reversal uses the same tools — the motor comes off without leaving a trace.
Connectivity: Wi-Fi or LoRaWAN
The Wi-Fi motor pairs with the Aqua-Scope app via QR code and also acts as an MQTT or HTTP endpoint for your smart home. The LoRaWAN motor pairs with our LoRa sensors — ideal for locations without stable Wi-Fi or operators running their own LoRa network.
Installation requirements
The KFR motor fits all angle-seat valves up to DN32 and almost all valves in DN40. That covers the vast majority of main shut-off valves installed in German single- and multi-family homes — from a classic house installation up to larger apartment connections.

If your valve is stiff
The KFR valve should turn freely before installation. If it's stuck or visibly corroded — not uncommon in older buildings — we recommend a plumber check first. Better to install a new valve than risk a leak during manual operation. See the guide Where to shut off?
