Water Guard (Ball Valve)

Ball valves are today's standard in new builds and renovations. The Water Guard clamps around the operating handle and rotates it 90° — in the event of a leak, in seconds.

Water Guard (Ball Valve)

A ball valve closes with a quarter turn — from fully open to fully closed. That simple mechanism is reliable, long-lived and largely maintenance-free. The Water Guard grips the existing handle and does the quarter turn for you: automated, from the Aqua-Scope app, from a sensor, from a smart-home rule, or via a dry contact.

The Water Guard fits classical ball valves and butterfly valves — the two most common shut-off body types. For a small number of special cases — non-standard handle geometries, larger commercial butterfly valves, or older body designs — matching adapters are required; find them in the Aqua-Scope shop.

Installation in minutes

The Water Guard wraps around the ball valve handle and is fixed to the valve stem with a clamp. No disassembly, no tools other than a hex key. To remove, release the clamp — the ball valve remains untouched.

Connectivity: LoRaWAN or dry contact

The LoRaWAN variant pairs directly with our LoRa sensors — even in large buildings with deep basements. The dry-contact variant is triggered by a simple switch signal, ideal for connecting to existing building automation systems, fire alarm panels or smart-home hubs with a matching output.

Butterfly valves & special cases

Large butterfly valves typically appear in commercial and industrial installations and in large buildings. A 90° rotation is enough here too — with the correct adapter the Water Guard mounts on this valve family as well. All available adapters are in the Aqua-Scope shop. Talk to us for more complex applications — we'll help you pick the right clamp.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Water Guard Ball Valve motor?
A retrofit motor that mounts onto your existing ball valve. On leak alarm it closes the main water valve automatically — no plumber, no pipe cutting.
Which ball valves does the BVS motor fit?
Standard 90°-turn ball valves DN15-DN32 with a lever handle. Butterfly valves with a similar handle also work.
What connectivity options does the BVS motor offer?
LoRaWAN for standalone operation with a small indoor gateway, or a wired dry-contact variant (BVSDRY02) for integration into existing security or building-automation systems.
Does the motor block the manual lever on the ball valve?
No. The manual lever stays accessible for emergency operation. The motor works in bypass mode alongside the manual handle.
How much torque does the BVS motor deliver?
Enough to move even seized or lightly-corroded ball valves that haven't been operated in years. Rated for DN32 metal ball valves.
