The Flood Sensor detects the presence of water on its exposed sensor pins and sends an alarm message wirelessly when triggered. In addition, the device will regularly report the ambient temperature and humidity and send an alarm when the readings exceed thresholds that can be set for both humidity and temperature.
The device itself is designed to sit on the floor, where 3 brass telescopic pins can detect water on both hard floors (tiles) and soft carpets. The unit comes with a mounting bracket. It can be screwed or taped to the wall or floor. When the main sensor is in the bracket, a super-flat sensor pad connected by wire to the bracket is used to detect water.
When an alarm is active, the unit emits a sound and a red LED flash. The device is powered by an internal CR123 battery that lasts approximately 5 years in normal operation.
The device can be directly connected to an Aqua-Scope leak monitor and sends its information directly to the Aqua-Scope system.
The sensor can be connected directly to an Aqua-Scope monitor without any further setup. Please scan the QR code with your Aqua-Scope App to connect the device to your Aqua-Scope monitor.
The first step is to insert the CR123 battery. Turn the top of the sensor housing counterclockwise to open the housing. Inside you will see the functional components of the unit:
After inserting the battery (resp. removing the isolating slip), the device is ready for operation. You can check the function by hitting the button. You will hear a beep, the LED goes on and a status packet is sent towards the Aqua-Scope Monitors. The unit constantly checks for flooding and reports a heartbeat every 15 minutes.
When water is detected an alarm packet is sent out, the LED turns red and the device continues beeping.
